EuroMillions Lottery – Play and Win Jackpot Euro Millions

What is EuroMillions?

EuroMillions is a popular pan-European lottery played in nine different countries on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Launched in February 2004, this Euro lottery regularly offers huge jackpots that can reach as high as €190 million.

When does the Euro Millions draw take place?

Ticket sales close at 20:30 CET on the days when Euro Millions is played, with the draw taking place at 21:00 CET. Draws are broadcast on television in participating countries, though they are typically not shown live.

Participating Countries

The following 9 nations offer EuroMillions tickets:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • France
  • Ireland
  • Luxembourg
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Switzerland
  • UK

Winners by Country

Across these 9 participating nations, there have been 380 jackpot winners since the first EuroMillions draw back in 2004

Why do some countries have more winners than others?

Players from France, Spain and the UK have had more opportunities to win the jackpot as they started playing EuroMillions 8 months before the other six participating countries. They held their first draw on 13th February 2004 with Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland joining the game later that year on 8th October 2004.

The number of jackpot winners also reflects how many residents take part in each Euro Millions draw – the countries with the most winners are also the countries which typically sell the most tickets.

How to Play and Win EuroMillions?

To play Euro Millions, players select five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Stars between 1 and 12. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 13, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 139,838,160. To win the jackpot, players must match all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars drawn. There are 13 prize tiers in total, with players needing to match at least two main numbers to win a prize. For more information about the different prize tiers, visit the Prizes page.

The game has a starting jackpot of €17 million and a jackpot cap of €190 million, which has only been reached three times in the game’s history. The cap was first hit in August 2012 as UK couple Adrian and Gillian Bayford landed the nine-figure prize, before the feat was replicated by a Portuguese player in October 2014 and a Spanish ticket holder in October 2017.
