National Lottery – Play and Win Jackpot National Lotto UK

Lotto UK

Lotto UK began under the name the National Lottery in November 1994 and was originally drawn just once a week. Nowadays, under the new name that was introduced in 2002, there are draws on Wednesday and Saturday nights. Players win prizes by matching anything from a minimum of two numbers, which is rewarded with a Lotto Lucky Dip ticket, to all six main balls, which wins the multimillion-pound jackpot.

Lotto Millionaire Raffle is played alongside the main game, offering 20 prizes of £20,000 and one award of £1 million in each draw. Players are automatically entered into the supplementary game, with a code being generated on their ticket for each line they play in the main draw.

UK Lotto Draw

The UK Lotto is drawn twice a week and uses a variety of different lottery machines and sets of balls to truly randomise the draw. The machines are given names taken from the mythology surrounding King Arthur or from gemstones. Both the machine and set of balls are chosen at random before each draw by an independent onlooker from sealed envelopes.

The UK Lotto draw takes place every Wednesday and Saturday evening. Wednesday draws are scheduled for 8pm and Saturday draws for 8.30pm, with a full breakdown of results and prizes, plus the winning Lotto Millionaire Raffle codes, available soon after the draw is completed.

What time do UK Lotto ticket sales close?

Sales for UK Lotto tickets close at 7:30pm GMT on the night of the draw. Ticket sales will re-open for the next draw later that evening.

If I win, how long do I have to claim a prize?
